City of the Sea

Ancient Egypt, the 18th Dynasty.

The child Pharaoh Tutankhamun is dead, and the wily but ageing Ay has outwitted Horemheb to succeed him.

But when Ay's wife dies with no heir, Ay knows his days as Pharaoh are numbered.

He
summons Huy, scribe in the king's court, to sail to the City of the Sea
to find out more about the growing unrest in the southern kingdom.

Huy
has other intentions for travelling: he has just learnt that his only
son from his first marriage, Heby, has disappeared and is feared dead.

When
he reaches the City of the Sea he realises Ay has sent him to uncover
the truth behind the brutal death of the priest Ipur.

Huy discovers that Ipur had a dark secret life, and his son's disappearance may be connected to the murder.

Can the world's first private eye find who was behind Ipur's death and be reconciled with his son, dead or alive?
